About Jaz Brook- Founder and CEO

Jaz Brook is a change-maker, activist, entrepreneur and innovator and the Founder and CEO of Youth Climate Solutions. Starting YCS as a research project at just 18 years old, Jaz has brought incredible intersectional perspectives based on her lived experience as a young, queer, neurodiverse woman from a low-income background. 

Jaz has done an amazing amount of work experience and training across the private, public and charity sectors- from running her first fundraising event at 11 years old, to completing courses with Open University and the United Nations, to placements with YMCA and BUILD Norfolk. She's volunteered for climate action, conservation, homelessness, disability and youth-centred charities and social enterprises and has fundraised for 10+ different causes.

Jaz completed the Open University Environmental Management and Organisation qualification, an Extended Project Qualification in Youth Mental-Health within education settings and has A levels in Economics, Business Studies and English Literature. 

Jaz is currently the Environment Officer for UEA Student Union, Elected Chair of the SU Sustainability Working Group, National Union of Students Representative for UEA and an Environmental Correspondent for UEA's student newspaper. 

She has been shortlisted for UEA Student Campaigner of the Year, was a finalist at UEA Change- Makers Competition and 2025 runner-up for Norwich Young Creative Awards Creative Entrepreneur. 

Jaz is two thirds of the way through her Global Development BA, specialising in consultancy, net zero solutions, systems thinking approaches and participatory action research. She's written several research papers and conducted youth-climate ethnographic studies.
