OUR WHY

Youth Climate Solutions is committed to achieving a climate conscious future for everyone. A future that is just, safe and sustainable- so that everyone no matter their age, career or post-code can live happy and healthy lives. 

The key to addressing this is to work 'systemically' or across all industries: business, education, not-for-profit, community and policy. By involving all stakeholders we can create collaborative, multidimensional solutions that work for everyone, helping achieve all of the UN's Sustainable Development Goals, without trade-offs. 

To achieve this, we use a social enterprise CIC structure, to ensure those most impacted by the poly crisis of issues, often those the least responsible for the crisis, don't have to pay to fix it. Businesses and Councils in the Global North do carry the most responsibility- but we're not here to tell them off, alienate them, or exclude them from climate mitigation and adaptation conversations. We're here to work collaboratively, with everyone. We want to harness the power of collective action for synergies of change. By working together, we can create a future where everyone prospers. 

51% of all profits are used to fund free services for young people, schools and the local community. And at least 50% of our team is under 26-years-old, ensuring young people remain central to everything we do. 

We track all of our emissions, scope 1, 2 and 3, we only use public transport, electric taxis and carpooling to attend events, we're almost completely paper-free and we're on track to be completely carbon neutral by 2026. We source all of our workshop resources and staff uniform second-hand (from charity shops) or from nature, keeping our carbon footprint and costs, as low as possible and our business model as circular as possible.
