About Tahiya (SABITA SOBHAN TAHIYA)- SOCIAL MEDIA LEAD

I am currently the Social Media Lead at Youth Climate Solutions, where I lead digital communications and campaign strategy to elevate youth-driven climate action. With a strong foundation in leadership, teamwork, and cross-cultural experience, I bring clarity, structure, and impact to our global messaging. 

Originally from Bangladesh, I’m now based in Norwich, UK, pursuing a BSc (Hons) in Economics and Finance at the University of East Anglia. Alongside my studies, I serve as the Ethical Issues Officer at UEA SU, representing students on matters related to ethics, sustainability, and student welfare. 

My experience spans roles in social impact, retail, hospitality, and education. I’ve worked in customer-facing environments both in Bangladesh and the UK, including retail and restaurants—settings that strengthened my ability to lead under pressure, adapt quickly, and work effectively with diverse teams. Volunteering at Cancer Research UK further developed my collaboration and communication skills while deepening my sense of purpose and social responsibility. 

In my current role at Youth Climate Solutions, I manage multi-platform content creation, oversee community engagement, and contribute to digital strategy. I combine creative thinking with analytical skills, supported by a working knowledge of financial modelling, reporting, and Python. I lead with a results-driven mindset, and I’m always focused on meeting targets while supporting the wider team’s goals. 

As a leader, I’m confident, proactive, and thrive during high-pressure situations. I believe in the power of collaboration to achieve meaningful impact, and I take pride in motivating others while maintaining focus on our shared mission. I enjoy solving challenges, leading with initiative, and turning ideas into measurable outcomes. 

I’m highly driven, ambitious, and committed to using my skills and voice to contribute to climate justice and youth empowerment. Through every role I take on, I aim to build stronger communities and lead purposeful, effective action.
